Parks For London Integrated Weed Management Reference Guide

Parks for London has worked with Defra, The Amenity Forum, Kersten UK and HSE to develop best practice guidance for Integrated Weed Management in Amenity Spaces. Ed Stannard, will be speaking on the success of the guide so far, and it's critical importance. The Integrated Weed Management Reference Guide is designed to help landowners, managers, and ground maintenance contractors develop a holistic and sustainable approach to managing weeds in amenity spaces and public realm. It equips those who design, manage, and maintain these spaces with a toolbox of methods to prevent, tolerate, or suppress weed presence.

There are also two supplementary resources to further support practitioners in adopting an integrated weed management (IWM) policy and implementing integrated weed management plans (IWMPs).

Kersten UK work with Councils' Integrated Weed Management Policy

We will be discussing our work to date with many UK Councils and what we have found are some of the best ways to think about unlocking funding and support for Integrated Weed Management, in order to make sure you are successful. Integrated Weed management is often a completely different strategy from what Councils and Sites are used to. My talk will discuss the common pitfalls, and how you can overcome them.

Kersten will be demonstrating some of it's Mechanical, Thermal and Electric Weeding solutions, helping you to get a hands on feel of how these could benefit you in reducing your reliance on pesticides.
